We currently have vacancies for lifeguards, swimming teachers and fitness instructors.
We are looking for fit and motivated people who are available for an immediate start. Council will provide training support for successful applicants.
If you’re wanting to change your career path, or looking for some extra cash and you’re not sure what it takes to work at an aquatic centre, come to our ‘Try Then Apply Day’ and tour Maryborough Aquatic Centre on 24 July 2023 and Wetside Water Park Hervey Bay on 25 July, two sessions on each day are available, 10am or 11am. Come and talk to our staff to gain an insight into a day in the life of a lifeguard.
If you have good people skills and a passion for fun but safe waterplay, and want to see what is involved in working at our centres then come on down to the ‘Try Then Apply’ Day or you can APPLY NOW.
We currently have job opportunities for:
- Lifeguards
- Swim Teachers
- Group Fitness Instructor
What you need to become a Lifeguard:-
- Working with Children Blue Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Lifeguard Qualification – don’t have this qualification, don’t worry Council will organise training for the right people!! However, you must be 16 years old to undertake the lifeguard training
If you don't have a Lifeguard or First Aid Certificate you will need to be available on 14 & 15 August to complete the training, there is pre-work and you need to be able to swim 200 metres in 6 minutes.
What you will be paid:-
Casual adult rate $33.43 per hour (includes 23% loading)
Please note junior rates apply
17 years of age and under $20.06 per hour (includes 23% loading)
18 and under 19 years of age $25.08 per hour (includes 23% loading)
